Savannah's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Well, it happened. My oldest child, Savannah Rose, started full-day Kindergarten yesterday. Wait, please press the pause button........I was not ready for this one. But even though I wasn't ready, she was MORE than ready to go!

Can you tell she's excited?

Here she is waiting in line with her classmates before heading into school.

Doesn't she look grown up? I can't believe it!

What's the first day of school without a first day of school outfit, right?

Her dress was an adaptation of my Charlotte Apron Dress pattern. I simply shortened the skirt pattern piece and added a knit ruffle. For the apron, I rounded the top of the apron and left off the contrast band. The leggings were just an easy little legging with a circle skirt style ruffle at the bottom. The navy blue polka dot is a spandex knit from Girl Charlee Fabrics, the ruler fabric and red and white polka dots were from Riley Blake Designs and the skirt is from Heather Bailey's line 'Pop Garden'.

Miss Savannah and her brand new backpack.

Someone was ready for Mama to stop taking her picture. But I needed just a few more.......

I am so excited to see what this year has in store for my little Miss Savannah. She absolutely loves school, loves learning and loves her friends. She is going to have a blast!

Happy 2013 / 2014 school year to my sweet girl!

  4. She's a sweetie! Lovely outfit! I was a kindergarten teacher so I know she will have so much fun while she is learning. The little ones are like sponges at that age and so eager to learn.

  5. Such a big day! (for both of you) I had one that couldn't wait to get on the school bus for the first day of school and one who cried her eyes out!
